1804 Proof Eagle (1834)
Minted in 1834 but dated 1804, these $10 gold coins were only produced for President Andrew Jackson to give as gifts. Only 3 coins have survived. One sold in 2007 for $5,000,000!

1804 Draped Bust Silver Dollar
Like the 1804 Proof Eagle, the 1804 Draped Bust Silver Dollar was minted to be used as gifts fordiplomats. With only 8 pieces in existence, it's not surprising that one of these silver dollars sold for $4,140,000!

1898 "Single 9" South African
1-Pound Coin (1899) South Africa began minting its own coinage in 1899. When the dies for the 1-pound coin were confiscated, old dies were modified with the new year. One specimen was misprinted. In 2010, this "mistake" sold at auction for $4,000,000!

1792 Birch Cent
In 1792, a British artist named William Russell Birch designed a one-cent coin for the newly created U.S. Mint. It is believed only 8 original coins survived. One of these pennies sold in 2015 for an unbelievable $2,585,000!

1907 "Rolled Edge" Indian Head Eagle
In 1907, Augustus Saint-Gaudens created his Indian HeadEagle with a rounded - or rolled - edge. The design was rejected and all but 50 coins were destroyed. In 2011, one of the surviving specimens sold for $2,185,000!
